The newest flagship smartphones from this popular Chinese manufacturer are finally here – Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro offer a beautiful design and some pretty powerful internals. Will these be the true competitors to the new iPhones?

The smaller model, Mate 10, is rocking a stunning 2560 x 1440 5.9″ display and looks absolutely stellar. However, those that need even more screen area should opt for its bigger brother. The Mate 10 Pro sports an even bigger display, measuring 6 inches and almost completely covering the frontal side of the phone. That’s precisely why the bigger model doesn’t have a “home” button.

When it comes to hardware, both devices have the manufacturer’s in-house Kirin 980 processor as well as 128GB of storage and 4/6GB of RAM. There’s also the fingerprint sensor, a 4,000 mAh battery, and the microSD support in case of Mate 10. Both handsets sport a powerful new dual-lens camera (12 & 20 megapixels), and both have the 8-megapixel frontal camera for the selfie lovers. Both smartphones are made out of glass, but none of them has wireless charging support – we consider this as a pretty strange decision from Huawei.

Mate 10, having no waterproof certification but featuring the much-loved 3.5mm port will retail for €699, while its bigger cousin, featuring the IP67 certification but no headphone jack, will cost around €799. Both phones will be arriving in four different color options – Mate 10 in black, gold, pink gold, and brown, and Mate 10 Pro in blue, grey, brown, and pink gold shades.

On paper, the design and the hardware of these smartphones look very formidable, and we’re pretty sure that they’re going to be a dangerous competition to other current-gen flagships. Will this phone make a splash on the US market that Huawei needs is yet to be seen.
